Hebrews 7:1-2a - “For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, 2 and to him Abraham apportioned a tenth part of everything.”

Leviticus 27:30-33 - “...is the Lord's; it is holy to the Lord.”; Tithe was used to care for the Levites who had been chosen by God to be priests for the people of God. The tithe was given to them as an inheritance (possession, to be given) so that they would be able to eat and care for their families. Though God had given the priest the tithe to provide for them, the priests were not exempt from paying tithes with the tithe they were given. After all the “tithe is the Lord and Holy unto Him. - Numbers 18:21-24; Lastly, the tithe was commanded to be totally given and not withheld and must be the firsts. - Leviticus 27:31)

For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” - Romans 8:26-27 - Hebrews 6:2b-3 - “He is first, by translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then he is also king of Salem, that is, king of peace. 3 He is without father or mother or genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God he continues a priest forever.
